rOtring600 Silver Trio Knurled

The first review is for the Queen! For many, the most wanted! The rOtring600 Silver Trio Knurled.

This multi-pen has an industrial look, slightly heavy for writing, weighing 46g (it depends if you like heavy writing tools, or not) and comes in two flavours, matte silver and matte black finish. As the name implies, it has three tips, two ballpoint refills (one red and one blue) and a 0.7 mechanical pencil.

The knurling is on pen's bottom (pen grip) and on the twist mechanism which enables the tip release. The knurling is deeper on old models (e.g. series 1). The series designations are based on observation, rather than a rOtring convention. In this model, the knurling is not so deeper, it's more smooth, in my opinion this pen is from series 2. There are other diferences between the series, like the colour of the red label and rubber ring, ring's position and sizes. I will not enter in details for now, but this will be the subject for one later post.

The barrel is hexagonal to prevent the pen roll in a slightly sloping surface.

I don't know the exact pen's age, however I have one clue. The pen's box, which picture is bellow (and in the pamphlet from previous post) has one inscription on the bottom, "W.Germany". West Germany is the common English name for the Federal Republic of Germany in the period between its creation on 23 May 1949 to German reunification on 3 October 1990, which means this pen is older than 1990.

Definitely, it's a Must Have pen!
